Our Mission Statement

Scoil Chríost Rí is a Catholic, co-educational primary school in Ennis town. Our diverse school community is committed to creating a happy, inclusive, safe and nurturing environment where every child is valued, respected and encouraged to flourish.

Inspired by the teachings and example of Jesus Christ, we promote the holistic development of every child – intellectually, physically, socially, emotionally, culturally, morally and spiritually. We seek to foster a living relationship with God and with others, while nurturing kindness, respect, compassion, resilience and a sense of belonging.

We celebrate the uniqueness and individuality of every child, recognising and supporting their strengths, talents and needs. Through positive relationships, high-quality teaching and learning, and strong partnerships between pupils, staff, families and the wider community, we empower every child to achieve their full potential.

At Scoil Chríost Rí, we strive to ensure that every child feels safe, valued, included and capable, and leaves our school with a love of learning, a strong sense of self-worth and the confidence to make a positive contribution to the world around them.

In Scoil Chriost Ri we aim to:

  • Place the child at the centre of learning, using engaging, creative and playful approaches that recognise each child’s individual strengths, interests, abilities, needs and talents.
  • Celebrate the uniqueness of every child, fostering a culture of inclusion, equality and respect where diversity is valued and every child is given the opportunity to participate, succeed and reach their full potential.
  • Develop confident, happy, independent and motivated learners, encouraging children to become curious, resilient and enthusiastic about learning and to take pride in their achievements.
  • Foster positive relationships, teaching children to treat themselves and others with kindness, compassion, dignity and respect, while developing their social and emotional skills.
  • Support every child to become an active participant in their own learning, encouraging independence, responsibility, creativity, communication and a positive attitude towards challenges.
  • Work in partnership with parents and families, recognising the important role they play in their child’s education and wellbeing and encouraging meaningful involvement in the life of our school.
  • Build strong relationships with our wider community, encouraging children to understand their role and responsibilities as caring, respectful and active members of society.
  • Provide opportunities for children to develop their faith and spirituality, nurturing an understanding of the Catholic faith and encouraging a living relationship with God and with others.
  • Promote wellbeing and resilience, creating opportunities for children to develop confidence, self-awareness, positive relationships and the skills needed to navigate life’s challenges.
  • Work collaboratively as a school community, with pupils, parents, staff, Board of Management and the wider community, to ensure that every child is supported to flourish.
  • Have high expectations for every child, removing barriers to learning and providing the support, encouragement and opportunities necessary for each individual to achieve their full potential.
