The Role of Parents and Families

At Scoil Chríost Rí, we recognise that parents and families are our most important partners in supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing. We value the knowledge, experience and contribution that every family brings to our school community.

We believe that strong relationships between home and school help children feel secure, confident and successful. We work to create an open, welcoming and respectful environment where parents feel listened to, supported and encouraged to play an active role in their child’s education.

We support our family community in a variety of ways, including:

  • Maintaining open and positive communication between home and school.
  • Welcoming parents to participate in school activities, events and celebrations.
  • Working closely with families when children need additional academic, social, emotional or behavioural support.
  • Providing information, guidance and signposting to appropriate services and community supports where required.
  • Supporting families experiencing challenges and recognising that every family’s circumstances are different.
  • Encouraging parents to share their ideas, concerns and suggestions so that we can continually improve our school.
  • Working collaboratively with parents, teachers and relevant professionals to ensure that each child’s individual needs are understood and supported.
  • Creating opportunities for parents to become an active part of our wider school and community life.

At Scoil Chríost Rí, we want every family to feel that they belong, their voice matters and they are part of our school community. By working together, we can create the best possible environment for every child to learn, grow and flourish.
